Fault Procedure Checklist

The LTE light on the router is red:

  1. Ensure that you have data

  2. It's possible that a tower near you is down. With load shedding this issue is being reported often, please also note that if your tower falls in a neighbouring load-shedding zone it might not share the same load shedding schedule as you. See diagram below.

  3. Another reason that a router's LTE light is red could be that the router has lost it's setting's.

  4. For either case please reboot your router as this may assist should it just be frozen.

  5. Each service provider has their own batteries at each tower which means that MTN could work but Vodacom and Telkom do not or visa versa.

  6. Cellular signal is not the same as LTE signal so you may not have LTE but you do on your cellphone.

I have really slow internet:

  1. Rampant load shedding and towers losing power causes greater congestion on remaining towers, this can greatly reduce the speed of your internet.

  2. Again, make sure you have enough data as low data is the number 1 cause.

  3. Make sure you are in close range to your router; router Wi-Fi does eventually deteriorate.

I have no Wi-Fi:

  1. Check that the Wi-Fi button on the router is on (Also known as WLAN)

  2. Reboot the router

  3. Reboot the apparatus you are using I.E laptop or Cellphone
